• Payment information (processed securely by Stripe; we do not store your card details)
• Viewing activity (which episodes you watch and for how long)
• Marketing attribution data (UTM parameters from the URL you arrived from)
• Device type, country, and browser information

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and maintain the service (video access, account management)
• Process payments and link purchases to your account
• Respond to support requests
• Improve the service based on viewing patterns and usage data
• Send purchase confirmation emails
• Understand how users find and use our site

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Mission Nihongo:

• Stripe - Payment processing. Stripe handles all payment data under their own privacy policy.
• Supabase - Database and authentication. Your account data and viewing logs are stored on Supabase servers.
• Vimeo - Video hosting and streaming. Vimeo may collect usage data when you watch videos.
• Google Analytics - Website analytics. We use GA4 to understand site traffic and user behavior. Data is anonymized.
• Vercel - Website hosting.

4. Cookies

We use cookies for the following purposes:

• Authentication session management (required for the service to work)
• Purchase claim token storage (HttpOnly cookie, temporary)
• Google Analytics tracking cookies

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may prevent the service from working correctly.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data and purchase records for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Viewing logs are retained for analytics purposes. If you wish to have your data deleted, please contact us at support@missionnihongo.com.

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe and never touches our servers. Authentication is managed through Supabase with industry-standard security practices. All data is transmitted over HTTPS.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us. We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe.

8. Children

Mission Nihongo is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
